Knowing how much is good enough takes some practice and experimentation. Try eating half the amount of what you eat now....go up or down from there, depending on you hunger that day.
(Still ! its tough not to binge on white rice, rasam and chips:-)) ....guess some days its OK to over eat.
I was watching the documentary ' weight of the nation' on Hbo. It is amazing how the doctors stressed on portion control to even maintain the weight after you've lost all you wanted. You might be eating the same amount that the other person ( who is naturally the same weight as you after the weight loss) but put on weight. to keep the weight off you must eat 20-30% less than the other naturally low weight person.
The key word here is "metabolism". If your metabolic rate is low no amount of diet is going to help you. A person cant stay hungry forever. Only way to increase your basal metabolic rate is to exercise.....Green tea or black tea without sugar is supposed to increase your metabolic rate temporarily.
I read somewhere and agree' the best way to eat is to eat as if your life depends on it'.....because it does. Consciously eating food which are good for you ...Especially being vegetarian women, we need to pay attention to the iron and calcium content in what we eat.Eating enough proteins and different kinds to get all the amino acids. Eating whole grains instead of highly processed, refined, low nutritional value products.Watching your sugar intake. Many more such things.
Reaching the milestone of losing 10 pounds, makes me more confident that I am on the right path( I have a long way to go ).
To everybody out there trying to lose weight "Dont lose hope...and Dont give up too soon" . Just like Krishna's teaching in the Gita " Do your duties dont worry about the result".You might be really close to breaking the plateau you never know . Either ways all the changes you are making to your lifestyle ( excercise and eating healthy) will definitely improve the quality of you life ......make you feel more energetic and happier. It did for me.
